Survivor's pension
Granting a monetary right to the descendants as a result of the death of the breadwinner, if the deceased person was receiving an old-age pension or a disability pension or met the conditions for obtaining a disability pension.
The survivor's pension is established during the fulfilment of the following conditions:
- children, up to the age of 18 or, if they continue their studies in day education institutions (secondary, specialized medium and higher), until they finish, without exceeding the age of 23;
- to the surviving spouse if, at the time of the breadwinner's death or within 5 years after the death, he/she has reached retirement age or has been assigned a severe or aggravated disability, has been married to the deceased for at least 15 years and has not remarried;
- to the surviving spouse or the guardian (curator) who takes care of children under the age of 3 of the deceased breadwinner, during the periods of non-employment or being on leave to care for the child up to the age of 3.
The application deadline for determining the survivor's pension is 90 days from the date of the breadwinner's death.
If the application and the necessary documents were submitted after the deadline, the pension will be granted from the date submitting the application or presenting the last necessary act.
