Authorization to operate in the International Free Port "Giurgiulesti"

The resident of the International Port shall operate in the territory of the Port under the appropriate authorization to operate in the International Port. The authorisation shall be issued by the Government Representative in the International Port and shall be valid throughout the territory of the International Port.

The authorization is issued separately for each type of activity, carried out in the International Port, during the period of validity of the contract, concluded between the resident and the General Investor.

It is forbidden the activity of residents on the territory of the International Port without authorizations.

    Submission of the application

    In order to receive authorization as a resident of the International Port it is necessary to submit an application in writing or in electronic form to the Representative of the Government.

    Processing and Examination

    The Government representative examines the application and issues the Authorization for the requested types of activity.

    The Government representative is obliged to take a decision on granting or refusing the authorization and, within 10 days from the moment of submission of all documents, to issue the authorization or notify the resident of the refusal to grant the authorization, specifying the reasons for the refusal.

    If the expertise of the materials examined requires additional time for verification, the time limit for taking the decision on the issuance of the authorisation may be extended for another 5 working days.

    Issuance of the authorisation

    The authorisation is automatically generated by the SI GEAP authorisation management information system.

    Refusal of authorisation

    The grounds for refusal of authorisation may serve as:

    a) inauthentic or incomplete information in the submitted documents;

    b) the inadequacy of the type of activity or investment project, for which the authorization is requested, with the types of activity or investment projects, provided in the registration documents, as well as with the sub-leasing contract between the resident and the General Investor.

    The representative of the Government shall notify the resident of the refusal to grant authorisation, specifying the reasons for the refusal.

    The resident may submit another application for authorisation only after the causes that led to the refusal of the authorisation have been ruled out.
