Indemnity for temporary work incapacity and for maternity granted on the basis of the international agreements’ provisions to which the Republic of Moldova is party
Granting of a financial right to the insured person and unemployed and in the case of maternity indemnity for wives at the insured husband’s maintenance in the case of temporary loss of work capacity in relation to disease/maternity.
Persons, who have worked in the territory of one of the contracting states, party to the agreement in the field of social security, to which the Republic of Moldova is party.
According to the legal provisions of the Republic of Moldova, benefit from maternity indemnity the following people:
- insured persons who have a length of service of up to three years are entitled to social insurance benefits if they confirm a length of at least 9 months in the past 24 months prior to the date of the occurrence of the insured risk or to the date of child birth in case of insured risk of child rearing;
- insured women have the right to maternity indemnity regardless of the duration of the length of service.
- wife at the insured husband’s maintenance is entitled to maternity indemnity in the case if the husband confirms a length of service.
In case of marriage registration after the occurrence of the insured risk (maternity leave), the right to indemnity is established for the period from the registration date of the marriage until the expiry date of the maternity leave;
- persons who have benefited or still benefit of social insurance benefits on the territory of other state cannot benefit, under this law, of the indemnity by the same insured risk for the same period.
The right to indemnity for temporary work incapacity is confirmed by a medical leave certificate, drawn up in the manner approved by the Government.
