International driving license

The holder of the national driving license of the Republic of Moldova, upon request, may also be documented with an international driving license, of the model approved by the Government (DL 2008, DL 2015, DL 2019), in accordance with the provisions of the Convention on Road Traffic, concluded in Vienna on 08.11.1968, which was ratified by the Republic of Moldova by Parliament Decision no. 131II of March 2, 1993.

The international driving license is valid for driving vehicles in international traffic only in the presence of the national driving license of the Republic of Moldova, held.

The holders of national driving licenses of the Republic of Moldova may be documented with an international driving license, models of which are in force in the Republic of Moldova at the time of addressing, are subject to registration in the State Information System "State Register of Vehicle Drivers" and have the status "valid".

The international driving license is issued for a period of up to 3 (three) years, provided that this period does not exceed the validity of the national driving license held by the applicant.

Upon the exchange of the national driving license of the Republic of Moldova, on the basis of which the person has been documented with an international driving license, the latter shall lose its validity and shall be annulled. 

The international driving license can be delivered to the destination via the Government Delivery Service MDelivery.

The online order of the International driver's license could be required both – by authenticated or non-authenticated persons. In the quality of an applicant, will be able to act a natural person by himself or through the representative based on the MPower power of attorney.

Only documented persons with a valid driver's license of a new type, issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova, will be able to benefit from this service.

All the necessary checks to order the service will be carried out online through the appropriate information systems. The facial image will be extracted according the driver's license in possession.

Authenticated applicants will have the option to order the delivery of the manufactured International driver's license to the indicated address using the MDelivery service.

People who do not have an electronic signature will submit the application online; the International driving license will be issued in the PSA office.
