Conducting a search for a published patent application
The service is intended not only for the applicant, but also for third parties who are interested in the subject-matter of the invention in the published patent application. This service is accessible for the patent application and for the short-term patent application.
The applicant may request, subject to payment of the prescribed fee, a prior art search, of which results will enable the patentability of the invention to be assessed. The search for a published patent application may be requested by any interested person, subject to payment of the prescribed fee. Based on the search, AGEPI shall draw up a search report or a search report accompanied by a written opinion on patentability, on the basis of the claims, with due regard to the description and, where appropriate, the drawings.

Patent application filing methods:
- with the Agency counter at the address: 24/1, Andrei Doga Str., MD-2024, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova;
- online, by accessing the link (https://e-servicii.agepi.gov.md/);
- by e-mail, cerere@agepi.gov.md, (the application shall be deemed filed on the date of receipt of the e-mail, if AGEPI receives the original application within one month from the date of receipt of the e-mail, except for the electronic document signed with digital signature).

The search for a patent application shall be carried out within 6 months from the date of filing by the applicant or any person concerned of a request for search, with the preparation of a search report or a search report accompanied by a written opinion on patentability, provided that the prescribed fee is paid. AGEPI shall notify the applicant of the request for search filed by any third party. The request for search may not be revoked.
A search report shall be drawn up on the basis of a search, which shall be transmitted to the person having filed the request for search. If the request for search has been filed by any third party, the search report or the search report accompanied by a written opinion on patentability shall be transmitted to it only after the publication of the patent application. The request for search shall be deemed not to have been filed if an earlier request for search or for substantive examination was filed at the date of submission thereof. The person having filed the request shall be notified of the existing earlier application.
