  Step 1. Submission of the application

  How to apply:

  -   at the Agency’s counter atthe following address: Str. Andrei Doga no. 24, block 1, MD-2024, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova;

  -   online, by clicking on the link (https://e-service.agepi.gov.md/);

  -   by e-mail, application@agepi.gov.md, (the application will be considered filed on the date of receipt of the e-mail, if AGEPI receives the original of the application within one month from the date of receipt of the e-mail, except for the electronic document signed with digital signature).

  Step 2. Payment of the service

  - directly at the counter;

  Step 3. Processing and Examination

  Following receipt of the application for renewal of the ID registration, it is verified that the legal conditions for renewal of the ID are met, i.e. the correctness of payment of the fee for renewal of the ID registration (in the amount and time limits set); identification of the holder; the mailing address; where applicable, the powers of the representative; where appropriate, permission to use the official or historical name of the State. 

  Depending on the outcome of the examination, one of the following decisions shall be taken:

  1. renewing the registration of the ID; or

  2. rejecting the application for renewal of the registration of the ID.

  Step 4. Issuance of the certificate of registration of the renewed ID/rejection of the application for renewal of the registration of the ID

  When issuing the decision to renew the registration of the ID, the certificate of registration of the renewed ID shall be issued in the name of the holder, or his representative, with the same ID registration number, preceded by the inscription R or, as the case may be, 2R, 3R, etc., depending on the serial number of the renewed term.

  In the event of non-fulfilment of the conditions for the renewal of the registration of the ID, a decision shall be issued rejecting the application for renewal of the registration of the ID, which may be challenged before the Appeals Board of the AGEPI within two months from the date of its receipt.

  In case of non-submission of the application for renewal of the registration of the ID, after the additional period of 6 months that starts to run the day after the expiry of the set deadline, it will be found that the period for registration of the ID has expired from the day after the date on which the registration of the ID expires, the data on the expiry of the ID will be entered in the National Register of ID and it will publish the information on the expiry of the ID in BOPI.
