Re-examining old-age pensions

The re-examination of the amount of an old-age pension.

The re-examination of pension rights is carried out in the case of:

(a) the occurrence of new circumstances relating to the period of contribution, insured income, which occurred prior to the granting of pension rights;

b) transfer to another pension category;

c) persons who continue to work after becoming entitled to an old-age pension;

d) the amendment/completion of Articles 5 and 50 with provisions relating to the circumstances of non-contributory periods and activities, which have been completed before the pension is determined/reassessed.

Pension rights are also re-examined for pensioners who realized their pension entitlement before January 1, 1999, but only upon presentation of documents confirming the period of contribution.

Pensioners who are or have been in active employment after their entitlement to old-age pension has been realized/reassessed may apply for their pension to be reviewed no more often than once every two years, provided that the pension calculated in accordance with the information below is higher than the pension in payment.

The re-examination of old-age pensions is carried out on the basis of the accumulated contribution period after the entitlement to old-age pension has been realized, according to the staggered calculation.

Contribution period after entitlement to an old-age pension

Pensions determined/ reviewed before January 1, 1999        2019 - from 15 years

2020 (January 1) - up to 15 years

Pensions established after January 1, 1999 and up to January 1, 2019

2020 (July 1) - from 10 years

2021 (January 1) - from 7 to 10 years

2022 (January 1) - from 5 to 7 years

2023 (January 1) - from 2 to 5 years

Pensions established from 01.01.2019, including those reviewed at earlier stages

2024 (January 1) - at least 2 years
