Accreditation of conformity assessment bodies

Accreditation is an excellent means to provide confidence, that allows authorities, the economy of the country and the society in general to rely on the competence of testing, calibration, medical analysis, metrological verification laboratories, certification bodies and inspection bodies (conformity assessment bodies) conducting conformity assessment activities, accredited and supervised by the National Accreditation Center (MOLDAC).

 Accreditation attests the competence of conformity assessment bodies, which in their turn attest the conformity of products, processes, services placed on the market.

MOLDAC provides accreditation services according to competence for the following accreditation schemes:

  • SM EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 (testing laboratories and calibration laboratories)
  •  SM EN ISO 15189:2022 (medical laboratories)
  •  SM EN ISO/CEI 17020:2013 (Inspection Bodies and Metrological Verification Laboratories)
  •  SM EN ISO/CEI 17065:2013 (Product certification bodies)
  •  SM SR EN ISO/CEI 17021-1:2015, (Certification Bodies for Management Systems - Quality, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Bribery)
  •  SM SR EN ISO/CEI 17021-1:2015, SM ISO 22003-1:2023 (Food Safety Management Systems Certification Bodies)
  •  SM SR EN ISO/CEI 17024:2014, (Personal Certification Body).

    Step 1. Submitting of the application

    The request is submitted at MOLDAC headquarters at the address: Gheorghe Tudor 5, Office 302, MD-2028, Chisinau, Moldova or via the Automated Informational System SIA Acreditare.

    Step 2. Resource review, preliminary visit

    The Resource Analysis Sheet and the File is sent to MOLDAC Director, who analyzes the proposals of the Head of Department, records the results of the analysis on the Resource Analysis Sheet.

    For initial accreditation, if the applicant accepts a preliminary visit, it is carried out according to the Accreditation Rules.

    Step 3. Preparation for assessment

    After the Accreditation contract was signed, the accreditation process begins with the appointment of the assessment team.

    Step 4. Analysis of documented information

    Analysis of the presented documentation.

    Step 5. On-site assessment

    The assessment team reviews all relevant information and objective evidence gathered before and during the assessment to determine the compliance of the Conformity Assessment Bodies with the accreditation requirements.

    Step 6. Treatment of non-conformities

    For all categories of non-conformities raised by the assessment team and for all types of assessments, the Conformity Assessment Bodies shall establish for each non-conformity the actions provided in the Policy for treatment of non-conformities, within the deadlines established by Annex no. 1 to the Accreditation Rules.

    Step 7. Accreditation decision-making

    The assessment team shall ensure that all records and information relevant to that file are adequate and are provided to the Accreditation Recommendation Committee along with the team's proposal for the accreditation decision.

    The decision on accreditation is issued to the applicant at the Center counter.
